Gustavo Aceves

Gustavo Aceves (1957 - Mexico City) currently resides and works in Pietrasanta, Italy.

Aceves is renowned for his powerful paintings of human figures that draw from classical painting traditions, characterized by monumental dimensions and the use of vibrant colors reminiscent of Mexican murals.

Since the 1970s, his works have been exhibited worldwide, including at the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City, the Venice Biennale, and the Beijing Biennale. His work is featured in significant private and permanent collections, including the Memory and Tolerance Museum in Mexico City and the Vatican Museums in Rome.

He was one of the youngest artists to be showcased for sale at Christie's and Sotheby's auctions of new Latin American works in New York in the early 1990s.
